Myofunctional Therapy

Myofunctional therapy is an interceptive and preventive orthodontic treatment. It consists of specific exercises that target facial muscles and strengthens the tongue. 

The goal of this treatment is to improve nasal breathing while correcting dental alignment. 

Myofunctional therapy encourages proper dentofacial growth and development in children, and improves that of adults.

Myofunctional therapy provides additional protection against teeth grinding (bruxism), and can be a complimentary treatment for sleep apnea sufferers.

This system is available for children over the age of 4. It consists of a series of removable intra-oral devices worn 1 to 2 hours a day, and overnight.

Myobrace® has been designed to teach children to breathe through their nose, rest their tongue correctly, swallow correctly, and continue widening their jaws in order to grow to their full and proper size.
